Contemporary garden at the foot of the citadel, with a shaded terrace in Bitche.
The war is over! The former military esplanade is now enhanced by a peaceful patch of greenery. Underlining the memorial vocation of the Citadel, it was conceived as the expression of a commitment to the future: the Garden for Peace was born in 2003. Located at the foot of the citadel, this contemporary garden is a haven of peace. Artists from various backgrounds combine their talents with those of the gardeners of the city of Bitche to propose particularly imaginative compositions, in the image of the materials used (wood, glass, crystal, wrought iron...). It is renewed every year thanks to its dozen ephemeral gardens with diverse themes, combining nature, art and philosophy. Children will be able to learn while having fun and don't hesitate to arouse their curiosity by introducing them to the different varieties of mint. Don't miss the famous Easter Sunday egg hunt! The Garden for Peace is part of the cross-border network of "Gardens without Limits", extending into Germany and Luxembourg. Finally, continue your visit to the city center by discovering here and there the fifteen or so Jardins en Troc, plant finds as original as they are ephemeral. At the entrance of the garden, l'Accueillet' offers a cafeteria with small dishes, drinks, artisanal ice creams and a tea room. You can also enjoy the shaded terrace or stroll through the gardeners' store!

A visiter....
