TROGLODYTIC HOUSES OF FALKENFELSEN
These troglodytic houses well insulated in the rock, enjoyed a constant temperature in all seasons
There are troglodytic houses that were inhabited until the middle of the 20th century. Well insulated in the rock, they enjoyed a constant temperature in all seasons. Today, two of them can be visited, including the one of the Hinbeer hermit, who became famous for his strange religious sculptures. Under the rock, where a rock shelter is formed, a second hermit called Falkenfels lived in 1895. Since 1902, the cave dwellings have remained uninhabited.
