Close to the forest, a famous place rich in history in the Messinian Country. In a pretty clearing in the heart of the forest between Gorze and Ancy stands the cross of Saint Clement. Erected at the beginning of the 19th century by the commune of Ancy, it bears witness to the place from which the holy man, the first bishop of Metz, first saw the town, then called by this Roman name, Divodurum. For the record, we can still see today, at the foot of the cross, the trace of his knee print! Today, from this cross, you can see the Moselle prefecture on the horizon...
