The commune of Fénétrange is located on the edge of a vast state-owned forest made up mainly of sessile and pedunculate oaks, with 20% beech and 20% hornbeam. It is reputed to be the largest heronry in eastern France. The forest is criss-crossed by numerous signposted footpaths. People come here to walk all year round. Naturalists delight in its biodiversity of flora and fauna. Birds, mosses, deer, mushrooms... More than enough reason to keep your eyes open and be on the lookout.
