BARRABINO CASTLE
In 1717 Henning von Stralenheim, governor of the two Bridges, built according to the plans of the Swedish architect Jonas Sundhal, a castle imposing Baroque style, on the remains of a previously constructed manor house shaped in shape of U. The inner Courtyard of the Castle is south oriented. North side, the central body unveils a monumental balcony with views of a French garden. Nothing is too beautiful for Marianne de Forbach, the young and beautiful wife of Christian IV, duke of the Deux-Bridges. Once the building was acquired by his husband, Marianne maintained the most prestigious, in 1775. Among his Parisian relations forming «his court», we note Diderot, Grimm and Chevalier von Gluck.
