ST. MAURICE CHURCH
The Saint-Maurice church was built from 1911 to 1913 in the neo-baroque style of the region. It is inspired by the baroque churches of South Germany, especially in the design of its transept which is very shallow. It has a copper covered bulb steeple that characterizes it well. This type of bell is quite common in this sector and is an expression of the Baroque movement in Lorraine. Inside, the visitor will be amazed by the richness of the decor, stucco, gold, wood largement. So everything is exubérance and sumptuous. But it also houses a superb organ on which many concerts are given. The church is dedicated to Saint Maurice, a Roman officer, and it was also to Saint Brigitte who spared the city's cattle a terrible epidemic.
