THE OLD GOMELANGE HOUSE
Ecomuseum in a Lorraine house in Gomelange, to discover ancient ways of life, customs and traditions.
Since 1983, thanks to the association La Vieille Maison de 1710, Cette, this Lorraine house is now open to visitors, a beautiful way to discover the ways of life in these times and to honour customs and ancestral traditions… The museum unveils a large collection of antique furniture, traditional costumes and many objects of everyday life. It can be seen in particular: One-eyed room or «Backkichen» with its smoking and bread oven, the beautiful room (called «Gut Stuh») or the «living» or «Kâma» room. On the last Sunday in August, the place takes place at a peasant party. In the programme: home meals and events of all kinds! The old barn was also restored in a reception and conviviality area, with temporary exhibitions during the summer period. Here is a unique home to the soul of yesteryear, which constantly surprises us every year!
