CHAPEL OF ST. CLEMENT
Go there and contact
Built in 1603 by Mangin-Chavais, pastor of the parish church of Hagéville and Archpriest of Gorze, the name of this chapel pays tribute to the first bishop of Metz, Saint Clement, who crossed the forest around to go to the city. The small building also houses relics from different Saints: Clement, of course, but also Saint Interceptors. Next to the chapel, there is a Renaissance style Altar dating back to 1582. This is the altar of «des», because in the Middle Ages, masses were celebrated for healing the sick. Not far from there is the wood surrounding the chapel. He once housed a large stone cross, known as the "croix des Loups". On the day of Good Friday, many faithful went to pèlerinnage to pray for the end of a long and painful agony. These oral and religious traditions, prayers of legends, underlie the historic and cultural soil of the land of Gorze.
