Ecumenical center with bookshop and boutique in Gorze, welcoming all types of people for spiritual stays
The Centre Béthanie is an ecumenical center open to all. The resident community is non-denominational and Orthodox. It has occupied the Saint-Thiébault priory for the past 25 years, living out the teachings of Bethany on a daily basis and welcoming secessionists as part of the Bethany project. Throughout the year, the center organizes spiritual sessions and retreats led by the Bethany community or by guest speakers, the program being available for consultation on the website. It also welcomes individuals and small groups for spiritual retreats.
Offices: Lauds at 7:40 am on weekdays and 10:30 am on Sundays, Sext at 12 pm on weekdays, Vespers at 6:30 pm on weekdays except Thursdays, Prayers to Jesus at 9:30 am, 12:30 pm and 3 pm on Fridays, divine vesper liturgy at 7 pm on Thursdays. Schedules vary during the sessions, please consult the website.
Accommodation: capacity of 60 people, in single, double or multiple rooms, full board. There is no charge for sessions led by the Bethany center; rates for retreats led by guest leaders are set by them and indicated at the time of booking. Length of stay limited to 5 days. Breakfast and lunch are shared, with a contribution to service. Library. Meeting rooms. Self-guided tour of the priory and chapel daily, 9am-7pm, by prior arrangement.
