In the Pays country and the Lakes, 12 km southwest of Sarreguemines, not far from the road of the Aquatic Maginot line, and ponds of Diefenbach, Remering and Holving, discover the café-restaurant Le Villageois. Side bar, the atmosphere is warm and rustic. And side of the restaurant, taste the traditional and regional cuisine made by the boss, trained in Saint-Walfrid in Sarreguemines. Seasonal products and home-made products are in honor. The suggestions menu offered every day varies depending on the season. Don't miss the Queen's bouchées, great chef's specialities, homemade foie gras, or head of calf… A beautiful terrace at the back of the hotel will delight the summer hikers.

Stumbled across this restaurant en route back to Calais. Arrived as it opened and were greeted by the owner / chef. He and his wife were so incredibly hospitable and friendly. We had a tour of the kitchens and restaurant, a fabulous meal and some great conversation with him over the evening. We highly recommend the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere. Be prepared for a very authentic French restaurant with a traditional menu and decor and high quality food at a reasonable price. A real gem.
