PARC NATUREL URBAIN DU MARSAN
Park offering a trail around three ponds to discover the flora and fauna, with picnic area
The creation of the Marsan Urban Nature Park stems from the Agglomération's desire to showcase the region's natural, architectural and historical heritage, and to encourage its preservation. It comprises several sites. The Neuf Fontaines site, in Bostens, offers a trail around three ponds to discover the flora and fauna, with a picnic area, and a visit to a barn/chèvrerie in the commune of Bostens. In Bougue, the historical and landscaped site of Castets allows visitors to rediscover the medieval mottes castrales along various discovery trails. The Etang de Massy site in Gaillères offers a wide range of activities, including fishing for pike, tench and roach, walks along several hiking trails, an orienteering course, a playground and picnic areas by the pond... In Laglorieuse, the Limac wetland, home to a washhouse and the Saint-Guirons fountain, a place of pilgrimage on Ascension Day, was inaugurated in spring 2019. A number of improvements have been made to the area, including the planting of fruit trees, signposting from the town center, plant information panels and picnic tables along a footpath. In Mont-de-Marsan, the "Rivières dans la ville" (Rivers in the city) project has enhanced the value of a heritage that combines nature and the urban through the enhancement of the riverbanks.
