THE AUXILIARY SAINTS
The name "auxiliary saints" or "Auxiliaries" means fourteen saints all martyrs with the exception of Saint Gilles. During the revolution, statues were victims of the iconoclasts, toppled and cultured at the bottom of the hombourgeoise. They remained in this state for about a century, when the priest, circa 1900, decided to revive ancient custom by reviving the missing or mutilated statues. Restored again in 1983-84, most statues found the original style of the beginning of the century. Originally, these Saints were implanted along the so-called «Hohl» road leading to Homburg, at the front of the present cave of Lourdes. Of the fourteen statues in place at the beginning of the century, there is only the one of Saint Guy missing in the 1960 s.
