MONT SAINT-QUENTIN

The Mont Saint-Quentin, the privileged place of all the joggers, walkers and amateurs of VTT in Ban-Saint-Martin.
Mont Saint-Quentin seems to be an integral part of the Metz skyline, as it can be seen from one end of the city to the other, and is the pride of those who climb it regularly. The esplanade in Metz offers a breathtaking view of this 357-metre-high hill. History tells us that Drogon, bishop of Metz and natural son of Charlemagne, deposited the relics of Saint Quentin here and built a hermitage. Disappeared in 1798, it was replaced in the 19th century by military installations. In 1902, the Bismarck Tower was inaugurated. After several accidents, the site was closed to the public as unsafe. Although they contain a rich military heritage (such as Fort Plappeville, which was inspected by General Himmler in 1941...), it's best to keep to the rules and stay on the marked trails. Maps are available from the tourist office, which offers around twenty themed walks, as well as a fitness trail. Classified as a Natura 2000 area by the Lorraine Regional Nature Park, Mont Saint-Quentin is a favorite spot for joggers, walkers and mountain bikers.
La Messine nature: the Trail du Mont Saint-Quentin returns every year at the beginning of June for a women's race in the heart of nature! A partner of La Messine, this is a 100% pink and girly version of the famous race! So grab your T-shirts, get set, go!
