L'AIRIAL DE LAVIGNE
Traditional Landes hotel offering forest walks in Moustey.
A place full of history, this traditional Landes airial belonged to the Taris family's grandfather. As a mule driver, he transported wood to Bordeaux. For the past twenty years, Jean-Claude Taris, a silviculturist by trade, has been looking after this special place with his family. His passion for horses and antique carriages has led him to restore horse-drawn carriages, and he now offers this unusual means of locomotion for rides in the forest. He'll tell you all about the history of this immense forest, its ecosystem and many anecdotes.
Three group gîtes, a sharecropper's house and teepees are available to rent, so you can recharge your batteries in the heart of nature. Hikers, pilgrims, families, young people and people with disabilities can also enjoy the surrounding animals: horses, donkeys, miniature pigs, geese, cats, dogs, chickens and ducks all live peacefully side by side. A true discovery farm, part of the "Bienvenue à la ferme" network. If you'd like to go for a walk, ride a horse or walk with a donkey or pony, he'll be happy to guide you!
