ST LEONARD'S CHAPEL
This is a strange location for the th century Saint-Léonard Chapel of Vezon. Hidden by a thick Lorraine house, its length is partly hidden. Inside, not much to see (some stained glass windows, metal altar…), if it is a remarkable wooden frame on the ceiling. But the history of the place deserves to be told and is worth the passage to Vezon if you are in the corner. In medieval times, Saint Léonard (death hermit circa 559) was already invoked for the release of prisoners and the protection of domestic animals.
In pilgrimage to Vezon, many pregnant women, in the hope of a happy and successful pregnancy, used to drink at the «Pschotte». This picturesque name wishes to evoke the mysterious source at the entrance of the village, whose legend underscores its sacred character since the Carolingians era! After the forced passage, which was almost essential at source, women used to gather and invoke Saint Léonard together in the small chapel.
