This great gathering of aerostats, a not-to-be-missed event at the end of the summer, brings together nearly 10,000 curious people every year.
In 1990, the City of Metz and the Icare Balloon Club decided to create the Montgolfiades de Metz, with only 20 hot air balloons. Over the years, the Montgolfiades de Metz have become one of the most prestigious aerostatic events in France. Thanks to the show given by the pilots for almost 30 years, the hot-air balloons take off in an exceptional place, at the doors of the city center. This great gathering of aerostats, an unmissable event at the end of the summer, brings together nearly 10,000 curious people every year.
