METZ SOLIDARITÉ PERSONNES ÂGÉES
Town councils are responsible for identifying the elderly and persons with disabilities in their homes. A few key figures to realise the importance of the CCAS: Management of 6 senior residences with 268 apartments and an average of 250 persons receiving the helpline financial assistance. To compensate for the isolation of some, the CCAS of Metz has put in place a free call number to register. This approach, based on volunteerism, aims to promote the involvement of social and health services among registered persons. The persons concerned are those aged 65 and over, over 60 years of age and recognized unfit for work, or adults with disabilities. The application for registration may also be made by a third party, a natural person (parent, treating physician…) or a legal person (home help services). The same number can be used to report an isolated person. Moreover, the BCP publishes a guide for senior information, which is a mine of advice and practical information, to simply withdraw the CCAS.
