ST. CLEMENT'S CHURCH
Former Benedictine abbey of Saint-Clement abbey of Metz (first bishop of the city in the third century of our era), the church takes place in the Pontiffroy district. Since 1983, the restored abbey is the headquarters of the Lorraine Regional Council and serves as the Region Hotel. The fountain of Square Hocquard symbolizes the four Lorraine departments: Pierre stone for the Moselle; grey limestone for the Meuse and Meurthe-et-Moselle; Rose sandstone for the Vosges. A magnetic loop has been installed to improve the acoustics of the place, thereby making it the comfort of the hearing impaired. Note, however, the weekly masses take place in Notre-Dame-du-Perpetual-Secours Chapel (right of the church), Rue Tour-aux-Rats.
