Romanesque Revival style synagogue created to bring together the faithful in a single place of worship and can accommodate up to 1,400 people.
In the 19th century, the synagogue was built in a neo-Romanesque style by the architect Nicolas-Maurice Derobe. The two existing synagogues were destroyed in order to bring the faithful together in a single place of worship. Inaugurated on August 30, 1850, the synagogue can accommodate up to 1,400 people. The building consists of a nave and aisles. The main façade has five large arcades with pilasters. You can admire the contrast between the yellow stone and the blue painted doors. In the evening, the show is striking, the light reveals the beauty of the place. And the interior is worth a visit with its particularity: an organ in the building.
