A splendid neo-Romanesque station, listed as a historic monument and voted most beautiful station in France thanks to its facades, decor, lounge...

The neighborhood that houses it is called the Imperial Triangle, which allows a venue for meetings. A splendid architectural masterpiece of neo-Romanesque style, Metz Station is one of the city's pride.

The station won the first National Council of Towns and Villages Special Prize for 2007. In 2017, she was elected «most beautiful station of France» by Internet users, following a competition organized on Facebook by Stations & Connections; she was opposed to La Rochelle station in the final.

This true pink granite colossus was built in 1908 under German occupation by Kröger. Since then, the building has been classified as a historic monument in 1975, especially for its facades, roof, living room, buffet decor (composed of working woodworks and painted fries) and its departure hall. It served almost 100,000 people in a single day! Once inside, do not miss to admire the various carved neo-Romanesque capitals, touching on the themes of the journey through picturesque figurines.

The reception hall of Emperor Guillaume II, with a sumptuous stained glass stained glass in honor of Charlemagne, is visited during the Heritage Days. The Emperor could if he wished, join the docks from his apartments, thanks to a lift. In 2015, the station was the subject of extensive renovation work. The whole, of fine invoice, has received a favorable reception from the messina population, which nevertheless has not always appreciated the authoritarian character of the building's imperialist style… As for the tower, kind of dungeon on the left of the station, it played the role of an aeration well to refuel steam locomotives in air and water. She is also adorned with a knight named Roland.
