TANNERY STREET
Here once flowed the Seine, at the beginning of the 20th century. As its name suggests, the street was the landmark of the city's tanners. The district had no less than 12 tanneries, employing day after day, no less than 350 workers. From these tall and narrow old houses, there are now only the volumes of the old tanneries, which can be imagined in the new buildings. You will walk down this street keeping in mind these skins that were tanned, imagine the smell, the warmth, the sweat of all these hard workers and proud of their know-how. Today, the Garden of the Tanners overlooks this street to keep dreaming!
