THE BIG LOCK
This structure offers a magnificent view of the ponds and canal at Réchicourt-le-Château
Lock no. 2 on the Meurthe side of the Canal de la Marne au Rhin, located in the commune, was commissioned in 1965, after three years' work, replacing 6 traditional locks, which can still be seen today. The waterfall is impressive (over 15 m). The lock offers a magnificent view over the entire canal and ponds. The lock chamber is 40 m long. This is the highest Freycinet lock in France. The lock's various components are operated by hydraulic cylinders.
