LES REFLETS DU CANAL
Follow the towpath of the old canal and its lock to discover the richness of the local natural heritage.
This interpretation trail follows the same route as the Grande Écluse trail, and is the result of a partnership between Voies Navigables de France, the commune of Réchicourt-le-Château and the Lorraine Regional Nature Park. The itinerary is punctuated by interpretation panels and follows the towpath of the old canal, whose 6 locks were replaced in 1964 by the Grande Écluse de Réchicourt. Through a poetic and playful approach, the various stations allow visitors to appreciate the natural wealth of the area. Since 1853, this 314 km canal has linked the Marne (at Vitry-le-François) to the Rhine (at Strasbourg).
