THE HOUSE OF BAILIFFS
The house of Bailiffs? Victor Hugo once enjoyed talking about poetry, the majestic entrance of this old building… From 1560, the residence located at the foot of the ramparts is only the exclusive castle of Cécile de Sweden, a legitimate wife of Margrave de Baden. Shortly after the death of Gérard de Rodemack (being deprived of his rights as a lord and expelled from his stronghold), the family of Margraves in Baden became owner of the premises. As a seat of family power, the residence takes the name Des. Later, in 1982, the majestic porch was crossed by another woman, whose name alone evokes grace: Gracious Del Vecchio. A graduate of the prestigious Ball School in Paris, she has been working for nearly 20 years with her husband Georges, the craft designer. Together, the artist's couple from the Fensch Valley adds to this place of dreams, a craft shop and art gallery. At that Time, success is flourishing, and numerous orders cross across borders… to Saudi Arabia. Today, the charm of this historic place is no less striking, since it is the seat of a very luxurious restaurant where guests meet warmly, in a Victorian-medieval atmosphere, romantic to wish!
