NOTRE-DAME DE BON SECOURS BASILICA
Basilica with the oldest stained glass windows in the city from renowned master glass artists
As early as the 16th century, the Benedictine monks of Saint-Avold established a chapel in this place. Legend has it that the Virgin Mary herself indicated the place to be honored. A simple chapel, it became a much larger building at the end of the 17th century. The stained glass windows are the oldest in the city and come from renowned master glass artists. Above the portal, one can recognize the statue of Hope, from the portal of the cathedral of Saint-Etienne in Metz.
