COURT BUILDING
This imposing and massive building of classical inspiration was built in 1905 by the Germans and takes the place of an ancient Napoleonic cavalry barracks (it is the first public building built by the Germans). Its architect, Joseph Stübben, participated in the establishment of the municipal park. Its colour comes from the stone of Jaumont, the material with which the Palace was built.
Smart Info: The stone of Jaumont, also known as the "stone of the Sun", has been used to build many buildings in the city of Metz, such as the station or St. Stephen's Cathedral.
