The city was founded in 1869. The houses are all identical and are part of the city's industrial heritage. It follows the rules that governed the construction of workers' housing in the 19th century: straight lines, right-angled streets, separate entrances for each family. This architecture responds to the fears of the employers faced with the increase of the working population in the industrial sites.
