Guided tour to discover the Simserhof in Siersthal, one of the most important artillery works of the Maginot Line.

A three-hour visit to better understand the Simserhof and to honor the courage of all those involved. It was built between 1929 and 1938 and housed 876 men who defended the Maginot Line. The tour begins in the ammunition room, where you can see the striking spectacle of the fort's defense. The video and special effects allow you to be immersed in the fighting of 1940. 25 meters underground, we discover what life was like for the soldiers: the kitchens, the infirmary, the command post and the power station.

Simserhof, Maginot line, is a must to discover if you are visiting the region. Unlike other works, Simserhof is in nature, this well-appointed green surroundings. The work even stayed sincere and authentic, we would have the feeling that the war has been just completed. The visit begins projection small documentary. Then continues with the visit of the work by train and on foot, which is decorated reviews, testimonies and images of time, with lots of emotions. Place not miss - it will not fail to surprise.
we have visited this work and I can tell you that it is a real marathon. GO 9:30 for a visit to 9:55. we arrive at 9:40, take our entrance ticket, explains that it is necessary to the entrance of the men where the nice us guide. we decide to have a coffee in cafeteria and good time to drink a sun-drenched one tells us to immediately the departure guide. result 3rd for two coffee bites. we make the visit a young very pleasant guide. everything happens, with the end you must again the reception building for the suite of the visit. not even time to go to the toilets that you already calls us for the projection film and visit train. in the final analysis one does not stop stressing us while on holiday and that you would like to calmly from the tourist sites. the other people who were in our group think the same: a marathon to discover Simserhof. it is really damage. 24 + 3rd coffee sun-drenched it is really expensive PS: the fiftysomething apparament is always at ticketing
I can not my opinion on the work because we could not the barrier watchdog giving tickets, namely a fiftysomething turned sour which sent to stroll and fish rotten under circumstances we arrive at 14:15 while the visit began in 14:25 (not drama on the horizon logical that!). We had reserved as it should be but we preferred to leave who give money (11th the entrance nevertheless) someone as impolite as aggressive. Never given! To have it spoken around us, it is currency, it does that all the time!
