Belfry of Thionville with 4 old bells, on the market place, proposing a visit on the occasion of certain events
No, you don't lose your way, you are in Lorraine! At the end of the 14th century, the burghers of Thionville erected a belfry on the market square. Remodeled several times, it later took on the silhouette that we know today. The belfry allows access to the four old bells (dating respectively from 1656, 1689, 1746 and 1844), the most famous of which is the "grosse Suzanne". In 1980, it was listed in the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques. The belfry can be visited on the occasion of certain events.
