Museum of archaeology in Thionville, "Museum of France", presenting beautiful collections from prehistoric times to the Renaissance
The Tour aux Puces (Flea Tower), a former keep of the castle of the Counts and then Dukes of Luxembourg, built at the end of the 11th century, houses an archaeological museum with the "Musée de France" label. Its name comes from the legend that attributes the atrocious and tragic death of a princess, who was devoured by ferocious little fleas. It has been the municipal museum of Thionville since 1905 and presents the archaeological collections discovered in the Thionville area, from the prehistoric period to the Renaissance.
