History: In 1707, the Duke Leopold of Lorraine authorized the establishment of a glassware in Plaine-de-Walsch. In the nineteenth century, the glass was recognized for its glass of exemplary quality, its half-crystal developed in 1833 by its director, Mr. de Fontenay, his glass doubled in color and carved. In 1830, the glassware moved to Valléry Valley becoming Vallerie de Vallersthal. The Countess of Lutzelbourg and Baron Auéonor of Klinglin took control in 1833. In 1872, the glassware merged with Portieux's glassware. The confrontation of the techniques and know-how of the mastery masters gives the new company an innovative dynamic that enables it to focus on the quality and creativity of these products an international and prestigious clientele including the Grand Duchess of Vladimir, the wife of the Grand Duke Michel, the brother of Czar Nichola II of Russia. La Cristallerie de Vallersthal is now part of the Eastern Land Group.
