ST. THERESA'S CHURCH
The Sainte-Thérèse sanctuary in Vasperviller features a main stained glass window depicting Christ's family tree.
It's the Pink Rose among the Seven Sacred Roses of the ancient parish of Saint-Quirin. Who would have thought that such a building could be located on the road between Saint-Quirin and Abreschviller, in the small village of Vasperviller? Designed in 1968 by architect Litzenburger in the tradition of Le Corbusier, the building is contemporary in architecture. The interior is soft and clean, with variations in shape, volume, light and color that lend the site a special charm. A total of 17 stained glass windows depict the family tree of Christ. The sanctuary of Sainte-Thérèse is ideal for meditation. The Trinity is based on a Coptic icon from the 4th century. Sainte-Thérèse is also a place of remembrance in honor of the martyrs of the cults who fell victim to the Nazi regime. It has been awarded the Outstanding Contemporary Architecture label.
