SAINT MARCEL CHURCH

Z'did not see Zetting? However, this charming small picturesque village located about minutes from Sarreguemines is worth a visit! Saint Marcel Church is one of the most beautiful churches in the region, classified as historic monument. Its architecture surprises at first glance with its style blends: a th century round tower with a state-of-the-art slate roof. The church is surrounded by a cemetery, itself protected by a wall. On the sides, there are several angels carved on capitals. Inside, there is a Gothic-style nave and a wooden chair carved with fine ornaments. The choir has two singular works: a th century tomb (to colourful characters with emotion-influenced gestures) and a neo-Gothic organ from the late th century. There is a great calm in this place for relaxation… The exceptional stained glass windows of the choir (by their bill and their geographical isolation and stylistic isolation) were produced by painters from Strasbourg in the th century. They are a real jewel of the regional heritage.
