Abbey built on the basis of a Carolingian church, with a 10th century crypt, a masterpiece of Carolingian art.
It was built between 1026 and 1050 on the foundations of a Carolingian church. Until 1128, the Count of Toul, lord of Fontenoy-le-Château and Bleurville, installed a community of Benedictine nuns there. In 1790, the monastery closed. Between 1974 and 1990, the abbey was saved from ruin by Abbot Paul Pierrat. Since 1991, it is the association of the Friends of Saint-Maur 17 who owns the place. You can admire the 10th century crypt, a masterpiece of Carolingian art with a multitude of columns of different shapes.
