A beautiful square designed as a tribute to a former king of Poland, and a symbol of the many markets of the century.
Stanislas Square was designed in tribute to a former king of Poland who became duke of Lorraine. It is a fine example of eighteenth century architecture and a symbolic place of the many markets that took place at the time. The pavement of the square took place in 1770. Erigée in 1788 on the square, the Neptune fountain is overcome by the statue of the Roman god of the oceans. Its column contains, on each side, a medallion where a text in gold letters is inscribed. There is also a music kiosk. The place knows its hours of glory every year at the spring fair where farmers expose their machines, and at the carnival of August 15, where small and large people enjoy the fun.
