This monument located at the top of the Haut du Mont hill was erected in the aftermath of the First World War to celebrate the victory of Lorraine in the battle of the Charmes Gap. It commemorates the bloody fighting that took place in this area in 1914. Located on a mound, a characteristic relief of the Lorraine sedimentary basin, this site also offers a beautiful view of the region around Charmes and Sion. The monument has the shape of an obelisk overhung by a pyramidion, with a large Lorraine cross on top.
