PRIEURÉ DE CHÂTENOIS
A priory founded in 1069, it sits atop a hill in Chatenois, offering a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside.
At the top of a hill, the Priory, founded in 1069, remains the last witness of the glorious past of Châtenois. It was the wife of Gérard d'Alsace, the first Duke of Lorraine and Count of Châtenois, who founded this Benedictine priory, which was then dependent on the Abbey of Toul. The building was destroyed several times before being rebuilt for the last time in the 18th century. Nowadays, only one wing of the building joining the church remains. From the heights, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the surroundings.
