BASILICA OF ST. JOHN THE ARCHANGEL
Monument to Joan of Arc, on the slopes of Domrémy-la-Pucelle, well worth a visit
This is the monument of national recognition of Joan of Arc. The basilica is located on the hillsides of Domrémy-la-Pucelle, birthplace of Joan of Arc. The first stone of the building was laid in 1881. It is in this same place that Joan of Arc would have been called. The basilica was built by the architect Paul Sédille and presents in its interior mosaics and paintings painted by the artist Lionel Royer. These paintings and mosaics represent the short life of Joan of Arc. A visit which deserves without any doubt a detour.
