Discover the architectural gem of the Esley crypt, a medieval treasure trove in the Vosges.
The small village of Esley keeps a true jewel of religious architecture. The construction of the Esley crypt is very old, since it dates back to the xiith century. The columns occupying the central area of the crypt are overcome with cubic double-ring capitals and exgrowth at angles You can also observe two religious sculptures: a Saint André polychrome of the XIV century and a Virgin to the Child. You can also admire the three original Romanesque altars as well as a sixteenth century vat. This crypt consists of two arched vaults and a central nef. A fine example of Romanesque art in the heart of the Vosges.
