SAINT-MANSUY CHURCH
Church with a massive bell tower and three Empire-style galleries
Classified as a historical monument since 1922, the Saint-Mansuy church (15th-16th centuries) has a massive bell tower with three Empire-style galleries. Gargoyles ready to jump on passers-by overhang the roof. The building has a particularity rare in France since it is supported by cylindrical buttresses. The church was built in a single block between 1450 and 1480 on a Romanesque structure dating from the early 11th century. Inside, a large vaulted nave with liernes and tiercerons presents impressive dimensions.
