BLANC DES VOSGES
For 170 years, Blanc des Vosges has had a passion for top-of-the-range household linen. For this purpose, he uses refined materials such as satin and cotton percale. With a wealth of age-old know-how, it is one of the last textile companies to manufacture its household linen in France. Blanc des Vosges is certified by the Vosges terre textile label and Entreprises du patrimoine vivant since 2011.
History. François Hans was founded in 1843, his canvases were hand-woven by women from the Gerardmer area. In 1865, the company innovated with the construction of the very first mechanical weaving of linen fabrics and the installation of a bleaching on meadow. Almost a century later, the first printed collection of bed linen came out of the garment workshops and marked the beginning of a great adventure for François Hans establishments. In 1999, the first Jacquart table linen collection was created. The following year, the company moved to larger premises in Gerardmer. In 2002, no less than 900,000 items were sold worldwide. In 2005, the first boutique was opened in Paris (7th) under the Blanc des Vosges brand. In 2007, the brand was officially launched.
The products. Blanc des Vosges has launched different collections of bed linen in very different styles: graphic, flamboyant ethnic, two-tone.... He also creates damask tablecloths, napkins and placemats; but also bath towels and bathrobes.
Employment. The production site covers 12,000 m² and employs more than 130 people, including 90 seamstresses, cutters, embroiderers, ironers and stylists. 1.2 million parts are manufactured and marketed per year and 25% of the turnover is made up of tailor-made items. The brand achieved a turnover of 15 million in 2016.
