Jean-Marie Bechtold is at the head of this 12-hectare farm, which has been certified organic since 2010. Part of his parcels are cultivated in the Grand Cru Engelberg, a rare terroir of oolitic limestone. A disused quarry that cuts through the hillside provides a glimpse: over a depth of 30 meters, the geological strata constitute an exceptional terroir. If the Rieslings coming from the Grand Cru Engelberg are famous, another terroir is interesting: the place called Obere Hund, very favorable to excellent Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.

After with wine Mr Bechtold restaurant With Lime Tree next to, we visited producer the following day and bought after tasting some good bottles, including late grape harvest. Mr Bechtold likes undoubtedly his profession E can speak with pomposity and it shares his passion for vineyards and wine that he grows with love. An excellent address in Alsace!
