BASTIDE VISIT
An unusual discovery through the visit of the bastide of Saint-Justin, which retains octagonal towers, a flowered path
Founded in 1280, the bastide town of Saint-Justin was once a turbulent frontier town. From its warlike past, it retains three octagonal towers, the generously flowered walkway along the ancient ramparts and a curious chambre d'arrêt. Guided tours (for groups) are available all year round, on reservation, to discover the bastide; a stroll punctuated by panels recounting the history of the town, to learn more about the phenomenon of new towns in the Middle Ages. A tour booklet is also available from the Tourist Office.
