HOUSE OF MECHANICAL MUSIC
A charming and original museum. It all started in the th century when it was good for the bourgeois to have an imported serin from the Canaries, to ensure the music of the atmosphere of the house. At the beginning, owners paid musicians to educate their bird. As it was expensive, the Mirecourtiens invented an instrument that could replace these musicians with feathers. The serinette was born. A passage in this temple of mechanical music, born of the will of some enthusiasts, reveals amazing things about the rich history of Mirecourt organ factors. Indeed, the city has acquired a reputation for its church organs as well as for fairs or fair. The museum presents a rich collection of instruments in perfect condition for the pleasure of large and small.
