BLEUFORÊT

Bleuforêt is one of the last remaining French sock manufacturers. Whether for men or women, the brand only uses noble materials such as Scottish yarn, silk, angora wool... The brand belongs to the company Tricotage des Vosges, a member of the Vosges terre textile label.

History. Bleuforêt's history began in 1994 with the creation of Tricotage des Vosges by Jacques Marie, who was at the time at the head of Dim, who had the idea of taking over a factory in Vagney, a small town in the heart of the Vosges, to produce quality socks for men and women. In 1995, he created Bleuforêt by taking advantage of the region's artisanal know-how and choosing only noble materials that give each of his products a top-of-the-range quality: silk, cashmere or Sea Island cotton socks. In addition, the quality of knitting, the care taken in finishing and the style of the product lines quickly won over department stores. As a subcontractor of Dim until 2008, Bleuforêt has decided to launch an entry-level collection for mass distribution.

The products. Over the years, Bleuforêt has expanded its range with leggings, privateers, leggings, stockings and tights made of cotton, wool...

Employment. The production plant is still located in Vagney and employs 250 people. The brand releases two collections per year with 70 men's and 125 women's models. It manufactures 6 million items per year and generates 30% of its turnover from exports.
