RANDONNEES AVEC LES LAMAS DES PYRENEES
Hiking packages: discover the hamlet of Salingre, escape from one village to the next...
Laurence and Eduardo are llama breeders in the hamlet of Saleix, at the foot of the Montcalm at 3,077 metres. It is in this village perched at 900 meters above sea level that they founded the Ferme de Lamas in 2007, a real little corner of Bolivia in the Ariège Pyrenees. Since the end of 2013, they have been awarded the Ariège Pyrenees Outdoor Quality Label. They raise and train llamas for bush clearing, wool production and hiking. They offer many formulas for accompanied walks, with family, solo, or with friends, as well as a half-day walk with a storyteller. There are different versions of the walking holidays, discovery in the hamlet of Salingre, escape from one village to another, and nomad to the lakes of the Pique Rouge, with a night at the Bassiès refuge, where the caretaker prepares a mountain evening for you. Children from 10 years old can lead the llamas themselves, that nothing stops, neither torrents, nor narrow footbridges or passages. While enjoying grandiose scenery, high altitude ponds, peaks, endemic fauna and flora. You will come across shepherds and their herds as well as the traces of former miners, smugglers and muleteers. Children can also take part in educational and playful adventures, at the farm discovery of the world of the llamas including activities and workshops of their choice, for a day or half-day. Labelled School Farm and Discovery Farm.
