CITY HALL
The building was listed as a Historic Monument in 1931 and features a huge double-flight staircase leading to the Renaissance landing
Listed as a Historic Monument in 1931, this building was once a fortified castle dating back to 1305. It was burnt down by the Lorrains in 1592, then rebuilt in 1640 by the City of Strasbourg to house its bailiff. Volutes on the pediment and allegorical statues symbolizing Justice, Temperance and Peace are among the sumptuous decorations visible from the outside. Cross the porch and enter the inner courtyard, where you'll discover an immense double-flight staircase leading to the Renaissance landing.
