Restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere where the inventive cuisine is based on local products
Laurent Cieutat went from birds to corks, from Mazères to Mirepoix. And well he did. The atmosphere is casual, friendly and relaxed. The welcome is smiling, friendly and highly professional. You immediately feel at ease. The all-you-can-eat buffet features local produce and, of course, Ariege charcuterie and home fries! There's something for everyone. Inventive cuisine, hearty salads and even hamburgers for aficionados. It's a great place to eat under the table, and has just expanded into a delicatessen and chic bistro.

We made the mistake of going for dinner on a Saturday night. Calamari starter was from a frozen packet with a strange, thin sauce like savoury milk. Steak hache for my daughter was fine. The vegetable accompaniment to my confit de canard was mostly soggy chips(!) but also, curiously, included 2 slices of raw courgette …. And my wife’s didn’t arrive! They got the order wrong and by the time it was established they couldn’t do the iberico pork she had ordered I was half way through mine, so she ended up with nothing. And of course, when it was time to pay the bill was wrong. They tried to charge us for 2 menu enfants when we only have one child. A disorganised and dismal experience. The square in Mirepoix is a lovely spot to have dinner but not even it’s medieval beauty can compensate for the experience at this exceptionally poor restaurant. Best avoid and select an alternative dining venue.
