SORCERER'S ABBEY
Monastery of the XVIIth century in Sorde, classified as World Heritage by Unesco as part of the roads to Santiago.
This 17th-century monastery is a stopover for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The abbey complex is organized around a cloister and courtyard, and opens onto a terrace overlooking the Gave d'Oloron. Don't miss the barge barn, the cryptoporticus (the only one of its kind in France!) and the "Trobairitz" sound trail for children aged 8 and over (booking required). Two game books are available for ages 4 and up. The site is currently being restored.
