Heir to a know-how that has been perpetuated since 1869, the Filature de Niaux wove yarn and made mattresses and cushions from sheep's wool. The production tool is now managed by the Sibada Laines association, a cooperative society set up to save this unique heritage in Occitania. A participative financing has just allowed its survival and the continuation of this emblematic activity of the region. The key to the work is custom work: carding of wool brought by the breeders of the region and washing of the wool of the mattresses on demand.
